Behold, the newest, most disgusting and ugliest trendy accessory on the streets… *drumrolls* the fur hat!

I’m not very fond of raccoons, but I do feel sorry for this little fellow. Look at it, it looks like it’s sleeping. Who wants to have skinned animals on his or her head? Obviously only cold-hearted people or fashion slaves.

I’m sure that most trendy and beautifully skinny ribs-showing fashion slaves will get cold feet and curse me by now, but I don’t care. It doesn’t matter if you are wearing fake or real fur hats, they are both environmental enemies, or, to be exact, the fake ones would be environmental enemies, while the real would only be cruel animal murder. Real fur is, of course, made of furry animals such as bunnies, ermines, minks, foxes, and, as the picture shows, raccoons. Some American factories go as far as using fur farming and breeding to make their living. A real fur coat costs an arm and a leg. Artificial “fake” fur, on the other hand, is made of many extremely dangerous components to make it look like real fur. Of course, all components are most dangerous to the environment because they were chemically manufactured. One spark, and the hat will be like bonfires on Walpurgis night. Beautiful sight, eh? But while it burns, all chemicals will be embraced by the environment and the breathing air, and all will be polluted. Just the way you want it, right, fur lovers? It doesn’t matter how many times you say “Oh, I didn’t know fake fur was environmental unfriendly, I thought that it would be less cruel to buy fake fur”, it’s a matter of insight.

1. Why wear fur at all? Whether it is real or fake, you have nothing to gain from wearing one of those.
2. If you yearn for a fur hat because it’s “in”, why don’t you check them up before you buy one? Then you’ll be excused from all sense of guilt.
3. Most of you may think that it is a freedom to choose whatever you want to wear. I beg to differ. A guy or girl wearing a chicken costume would probably be dragged from the streets by police officers for offensive conduct.

So, fashion slaves and fur lovers, time to reconsider? Your “Oh no, it’s too late, I already bought one, better wear it” will not be accepted. Hand in your hat and/or coat and/or waistcoat to some environmental committee so they can dispose them. “Fur real.”
